Hello Everyone!
As most of you know, I have recently accepted a teaching position in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania as a first grade teacher. Many people have suggested that I start a blog so here it is! I will try to update it frequently to help keep everyone back home updated on my experience.
On August 17th, Shannon Marshall and I will be on our way to our new home. Shannon is one of my best friends who has also accepted a teaching position in Dar es Salaam. She will be teaching grade 2. We will spend approximately 20 hours flying before arriving on the 18th in Dar es Salaam.
Between now and August 17th I have so much to do.....buying needed items, finding a place to live, applying for a work permit and visa, packing items I will take, packing items I will not take to put in storage, lots and lots of vaccinations....the list goes on and on!!!
In the mean time I have recently returned from a weekend in NYC and next week will be spending a week in Florida with Shannon! We are so excited for this journey and even though we have not left yet...the journey has already begun!!
